Artbooking Made Easy: Wintertime Layouts (S01E14)

This year has flown by!  December I am taking the month off from having Club and scheduling the new year and setting goals.  I got on my blog to check it out and could not believe that I only blogged 6 times this year!!  I have created SO MANY fun and awesome cards and layouts this year yet did not blog them!  So my goal is STILL to get better at this blogging stuff and hopefully grow some followers and friends on here.  I have posted a lot of my creations on my facebook page  www.facebook.com/funwithlauraq  so you can check that out.  I will be posting within the next 24 hours a prize for increasing my followers on facebook.  My goal is to get 111 "likes" and I am currently in the 70's
Have you seen the new Cricut Artbooking Cartridge that CTMH has put out?  I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!  I am going to post a video that CTMH created showing some awesome winter layouts made with this awesome product.  I will be scraplifting this videos ideas and using them for classes...probably for January.  Ahhh.... so much to do, so little time!

September Club creations

We will be playing with Laughing Lola paper for September Club.  I really like this new paper pak.  Here are the cards I created for card class:

This card I actually created for my gathering (or parties)---which I would love to schedule one for you.  This month has great specials that I will be posting after this post.

These cards were all created using Laughing Lola paper.  CTMH Club meets this coming Thursday, Sept 12 at Country Christian church or Saturday, Sept 14 at my house at 6:30 pm.  Cardmakers---we will be creating a set of four of the above cards.

Scrapbookers--we will be using Laughing Lola paper to create the following two layouts pictured below.  Both layouts were scraplifted right from the new Fall/Winter Idea Book.

I would love to have new ladies come to club.  It is a lot of fun.  Non-members--cost is $10

August monogram cards & Surf's Up Scrapbook Layouts

Well, as you can see, I have NOT improved on my blogging but I am happy to report that I have been creating monthly layouts for scrapbooking and cardmaking with CTMH.  I love creating and crafting with friends.  I am going to post what we did this month and then maybe I will post the past months creations for at least my sake!  :-O
This month we created monogram cards using the "For Always" paper (which is one of my favorites!).  I love adding it with honey or lagoon or ruby papers and it just "Wows" you!

Here are the four card we made in club.  I love how they turned out.

For any members that did not purchase a personal monogram acrylic stamp, I gave the option to make birthday cards with birthday fit-a-frame stamp set.

I also used the honey ink for this card to show a different look.
I have started trying to add a little extra to the inside of the card.  On this card I just used some little scraps of honey and a circle stamp.

One more thing we did in club was learned an embossing technique.  I believe I found this idea from my pinterest board and I cannot find the site to give the proper credit where it is due---because I pretty much followed her directions.  So when I find it, I will add it.  Here is the card:

This card was embossed with CLEAR powder on white paper.  Then I inked the paper up using CTMH sponge daubers.  I started with the lightest color and worked  down to the darker color.  The stamp set used was June's CTMH SOTM "Flowering Bunch"--which is a favorite of mine.

Well, I am not going to say much more as I want to get this posted and hopefully add to my blog later.

Happy crafting everyone!

April Creations for CTMH Club

Wow!  I cannot believe my last post was in JANUARY!!  I knew blogging would be a challenge for me but I didn't think I would be this bad!!  I have been busy crafting and thoroughly enjoying my CTMH Club ladies that come visit and create with me on a monthly basis.  So for now, I will post what we are creating in April and maybe I will try and post some past months creations.

April CTMH Club meets this Thursday, April 11 and Saturday, April 13 (you choose the day that works best--although I do have one faithful friend that comes to both!) .  I design both cards and scrapbook layouts using Close To My Heart (CTMH) material.  Ladies choose whether they would prefer to do cards or scrapbook.

I love the cards that I created this month.  Although I cannot take full responsibility for designs and layouts because I am a great card/layout lifter from Pinterest.  But I will link and give credit where credit is due!

Ok--my favorite of all favorites is the candy card.  I found this idea on Pinterest made by Christine...here is her web link: Creating with Christine-Spring Treat Cards

This card (made from pg 69 of the Artiste cartridge) had a little treat cup that sticks out the front of it and will hold little candies--skittles, m&m, and such. Treat cups are available through CTMH and are $3.95 for a set of 10 (Z1778)

When you pull the tag out of the card the candy will come out the back.
When you put the tag back in, a little greeting shows through the clear treat cup.  The stamp set I used is "Perfect Fit-Birthday" (B1417).  There are so many cute and different stamp sets that will work in this window.  You can make all different types of candy cards.  I cut a 2" circle for the treat cup.  In the back I cut a smaller hole--1 1/2"
Card number 2 for April is a baby card. This picture should be rotated to the right for proper view but I couldn't figure out how to do it.  So work with me and cock your head to the left ;-)

Card 3 is an encouragement card.  This card is a great way to use up scraps.  The paper that I have used on all the above creations is CTMH Chantilly paper (X7163B).  LOVE!!
The stamp set I used for card 3 is "Card Chatter-Sympathy" (D1476).  This is a great stamp set for sympathy/thinking of you/praying for you cards.

That does it for card creations!  Now, let's move on to scrapbook creations!

Once again, I am using Chantilly paper with one exception--the green cardstock is Pear from CTMH.  I scraplifted this layout right from the Idea Book--page 18.  I changed up the colors a bit, but other than that, it is very similar.  I also used the Chantilly Complements Dimensional Elements (X7163C) for the added embellishments on both layouts.

My next layout I created for a baby shower gift.  I put the layout in a black frame and told my friend that when the baby is born (she is having a girl), I will add her name, date, and weight to the layout.  I love how this turned out.

I used Pattern 17 from "Make It From Your Heart" pattern book (9035--available through CTMH) to come up with this layout.

I would LOVE to add or even start another club at a different location.
Thanks!

SNOW FUN Scrapbook layout for January

I am late in posting this picture but this is the layout our scrapbook club members created in January.  When I created it, we had no snow but now we have plenty!  Now I need to go brave the cold and take some pics of my kids in the snow!! :-)
Scrapbook layout made with CTMH Snowflakes stamp set and Cricut Philosophy cartridge.

Same layout with light reflecting embossed snowflakes in a different area.

This layout was created on CTMH Twilight cardstock.  CTMH "Snowflakes" stamp set (D1480) was used to emboss opalescent snowflakes all over the background.  I got the layout idea from "Make It from Your Heart" Volume 1(9035)---pattern number 02 on page  8 & 9.  I used CTMH Cricut Philosophy cartridge to cut out various snowflakes and the cloud shape.  The letters were also cut using the Philosophy cartridge.
I loved the saying on the "Snowflake" stamp set but it was too small for my scrapbook layout.  So I created it using the computer.  This was a lot of fun and my club ladies got all glitter glammed by embossing---at no extra cost! ;-)
I am going to try and enter this layout in the Heart 2 Heart Challenge.   This blog is a great place to visit to see the creative works of many different people using CTMH products.  I am always thankful for the inspiration I find in looking at others works---that is why I also LOVE Pinterest!  I really don't don't know what I am doing (in regards to blogging) so hopefully I will follow the challenges directions correctly.
I would love to hear from you!

Christmas Layouts completed

Hi everyone---I have started a pattern of blogging posts all at one time--"feast or famine".    I have a whole bunch of creations to share with you and I have uploaded the pics to my computer.  But I will try and spread out the pics over a few days rather than all at once.
These are pics of completed layouts.  I created the layouts for CTMH club in November 2012 BUT I did not put get pictures or journaling on my layouts (which to me is the hard part)!  I am happy to say I went back and "gotter done"!
This layout will be for Sarah's Scrapbook that I will give her at her graduation Open House.  Sarah graduates in 2014 and I have a LOT to do!!

Being a CTMH Consultant has been a GREAT incentive for me to get layouts done.  I am actually scrapbooking current present events rather than decades ago.  This is the first time I have scrapbooked a Christmas layout right after Christmas--a great feeling!!
